LaneWorthy Terms of Use
Last updated: October 31, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and StoneCove Studios LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company ("we," "us"), for the LaneWorthy app and the website at laneworthy.com. By using LaneWorthy, you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should read them with you and agree to them for you.
A practice tool, not a course or legal advice
- LaneWorthy helps new drivers learn and practice. It isn't a state-approved drivers education course, and it doesn't replace classroom or behind-the-wheel training your state requires.
- It doesn't replace supervised driving. Practice hours you log are a record for you and your family; your state decides which hours count and what has to be signed.
- Traffic laws differ by state and change over time. LaneWorthy follows common US practice and points out some state differences, but your state's official driver handbook and the law are the final word.
- Lessons about traffic stops and your rights are general information, not legal advice.
- We don't promise that you'll pass a permit test, a road test or any other exam.
Safety comes first
- Never read, tap or look at LaneWorthy while you're driving. Start a drive recording before you leave and stop it after you park, or let your supervising driver handle the phone.
- Mount or stow your phone safely and follow your state's hand-held phone laws.
- Practice only with a licensed supervising driver who meets your state's requirements, in a safe place that matches your skill level.
- The driving game is a simplified simulation. Real cars, roads, weather and people behave differently. Skills in the game don't mean you're ready for the same situation on a real road.
Who can use LaneWorthy
LaneWorthy is meant for teens learning to drive and the adults who help them. Users under 13 should use it only with a parent or guardian.
LaneWorthy Pass and purchases
- Much of LaneWorthy is free. LaneWorthy Pass unlocks more, such as every driving level, the Road Test simulator and unlimited tests. The app shows what's included and the price before you buy.
- Purchases are made through Google Play or the Apple App Store and follow that store's terms, including its rules on billing, cancellation and refunds. A monthly plan renews until you cancel it in your store account.
- Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the unlocked features. It isn't a sale of the content.
- We may change what's free or what the Pass includes. If we remove a major paid feature you already bought, we'll try to offer a fair replacement or point you to a refund through your store.
Your data
LaneWorthy keeps your progress, drive log and routes on your device. Our Privacy Policy explains what stays on your device and the few cases when information leaves it. Back up your progress with a progress file if it matters to you; if you lose your device or delete the app without a backup, we can't restore your progress.
Using LaneWorthy fairly
You agree not to:
- copy, resell or redistribute LaneWorthy's lessons, questions, diagrams or game, except for personal study and sharing your own progress as the app allows;
- reverse engineer, tamper with or get around the Pass or other limits, except where the law allows it;
- use LaneWorthy in a way that breaks the law or puts anyone at risk.
Our content
LaneWorthy, its name and logo, and its lessons, questions, diagrams, game and website belong to StoneCove Studios LLC or its licensors. Fonts and map data are used under their own open licenses.
Links to other services
LaneWorthy links to state driver handbooks, court decisions, map services and other websites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
No warranty
LaneWorthy is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee that every lesson, question or state detail is complete, current or error-free, or that the app will always work without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, StoneCove Studios LLC isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any injury, accident, ticket, failed test or property damage, arising from your use of LaneWorthy or from driving. Our total liability for any claim about LaneWorthy is limited to the amount you paid us for LaneWorthy in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Ending use
You can stop using LaneWorthy anytime by deleting it. We may stop offering LaneWorthy or any feature. If we stop offering a paid feature you already bought, see "LaneWorthy Pass and purchases" above.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using LaneWorthy after that, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Connecticut, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
Apple users
If you got LaneWorthy from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no duty to provide support or maintenance and, to the extent the law allows, no other warranty obligation for LaneWorthy. Apple isn't responsible for claims about LaneWorthy, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them.
